The Egmont Foundation is a commercial foundation. It consists of a commercial entity which operates the media business, and a charitable entity which supports children and young people at risk.

The Foundation consists of a commercial entity which operates the media business and is responsible for Nordisk Film, TV 2 Norge and publishes more than 700 weekly and monthly magazine titles, and a charitable entity which supports children and young people at risk. In 2016, more than DKK 95m was distributed to initiatives that support the learning and life skills of children and young people at risk.

The charitable activities

The Egmont Foundation is committed to supporting initiatives that generate positive change and value for children and young people at risk.

It is the Foundation’s ambition that BY 2030 ALL YOUNG PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO COMPLETE AN UPPER SECONDARY EDUCATION. This means that all children and young people must be able to master reading, math and writing when they leave school. And they must have the social and personal skills necessary for children and young people to cope in life. They must be capable of creating a good life.

The Egmont Foundation provides three types of support:

  • Support to initiatives targeted at children and young people at risk

The Egmont Foundation supports initiatives that promote the learning and life skills of children and young people. We support where there is a need. We support method development and innovation. And we support dissemination of initiatives with a documented effect.

  • A Helping Hand – support to children and young people at risk and their families.

The Egmont Foundation provides a helping hand to children and young people at risk and their families. Grants are distributed by four partner organisations: “Mødrehjælpen” (Mother’s Aid), “Røde Kors” (Red Cross), “Børnehjælpsdagen” (The Children’s Aid Association) and “Norske Kvinners Sanitetsforening” (The Norwegian Women’s Public Health Association).

  • Nordisk Film Foundation

The Nordisk Film Foundation is an independent part of the Egmont Foundation with its own objectives and focus areas. The Nordisk Film Foundation supports the training of talents, thus promoting the good film story. In 2016, the Nordisk Film Foundation distributed a total of DKK 5,090,000.
